Brookfield Launches $2 Billion Middle East Private Equity Fund Anchored by Public Investment Fund (PIF)

– Brookfield Corporation has announced the first close of Brookfield Middle East Partners (BMEP), a new private equity fund dedicated to investing in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East region.

– The fund has raised approximately $2 billion from a group of strategic anchor investors, including Public Investment Fund (PIF) and other global and regional institutional partners.

– The fund will target high-growth sectors.

– Investment focus will be on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets, with approximately 50% of the fund’s capital expected to be deployed in Saudi Arabia.

– Yazeed A. Al-Humied said the partnership will help anchor international private equity into Saudi Arabia, accelerate deal flow and bring global expertise to the local investment ecosystem.

– Bruce Flatt highlighted Brookfield’s nearly three decades of experience in the Middle East, its local networks and its owner-operator approach to supporting business growth.

– Brookfield has committed $500 million of its own capital to the fund, reinforcing alignment with its investment partners.

– The launch reinforces Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global investment hub and highlights growing international private equity interest in the region.
