– responsAbility Investments AG, part of M&G Investments, a business of M&G, has closed its Asia Climate Fund at $461 million, its largest closed-end climate investment fund to date, marking one of the most successful private credit fundraises focused on climate opportunities in South and Southeast Asia.
– The Fund attracted institutional investors, family offices, foundations and development finance institutions, reflecting growing recognition of Asia’s energy transition as an attractive institutional investment opportunity.
– The Fund provides private credit to companies active in renewable energy, electric mobility, energy efficiency and other climate-related infrastructure, benefiting from rising energy demand, supportive policies and significant financing gaps across emerging Asia.

– The Fund’s blended-finance structure saw concessional capital mobilise more than 5x its amount in commercial capital, demonstrating the ability of targeted public-sector risk capital to attract institutional funding at scale.
– Since inception, the Fund has committed approximately $204 million across 17 portfolio companies in renewable energy, electric mobility, energy efficiency and circular economy solutions.
– The portfolio generated approximately 8.63 million tonnes of lifetime CO₂ emissions reductions by year-end 2025 and is expected to contribute around 16 million tonnes over the lifetime of its investments.
– With fundraising completed, responsAbility will continue deploying capital across Asia’s energy transition and infrastructure build-out, strengthening its climate investment platform and connecting institutional investors with scalable opportunities in emerging Asian markets.
