H.I.G. Capital Portfolio Company OB Streem Acquires MED FRIGO GROUP

– H.I.G. Capital announced that its portfolio company, OB Streem, has acquired Med Frigo S.A., a leading European provider of temperature-controlled transportation and logistics services.

– Founded in 1991, Med Frigo is a leader in Greece’s aquaculture export logistics market, providing cold-chain transportation for fresh fish exports across Europe through its owned refrigerated facilities and fleet.

– The acquisition follows recent strategic developments at OB Streem, including the appointment of Alexandros Karafillides as CEO and the completion of a major financing with a consortium of leading European banks to support expansion.

– OB Streem operates an integrated European logistics platform spanning cold storage, ambient storage, container depots, outdoor storage, freight forwarding, and transportation. Following the acquisition, the combined business will generate more than $500 million in annual revenue, strengthening its temperature-controlled logistics capabilities and expanding its geographic reach.

Alexandros Karafillides, Chief Executive Officer of OB Streem, said the acquisition is a major milestone that broadens the group’s service offering, expands its capabilities in temperature-controlled logistics, and reinforces its position as a leading logistics platform across Southeast Europe.

Stelios Theodosiou, Managing Director at H.I.G. Realty in Europe, said Med Frigo’s expertise and network in temperature-controlled logistics complement OB Streem’s existing infrastructure, creating a unique platform with significant opportunities for future growth.
