Audax Private Equity to Sell GCG to Rexel

– Audax Private Equity has entered into a definitive agreement to sell GCG, a U.S. provider of specialty wire and cable, connectivity, power and engineered solutions for critical infrastructure.

– Rexel, a publicly listed energy-management products and services distributor, is acquiring GCG; the transaction is expected to close by year-end.

– GCG is headquartered in Chicago and serves data centers, power & utilities, grid modernization, communications, defense and other growing infrastructure markets.

– GCG is on pace to generate more than $1.1 billion in 2026 revenue, with 16 global locations and approximately 950 employees.

– Audax acquired GCG in 2019 through the carve-out of Genuine Parts Co.’s Electrical Specialties Group, subsequently separating GCG and EIS into independent platforms.

– Since the acquisition, Audax supported GCG’s standalone infrastructure, completed 12 acquisitions through a Buy & Build strategy, and refined its go-to-market strategy around Specialty Wire and Cable.
