– Apollo will acquire a minority equity stake in Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset management arm of Mubadala Investment Company, to support its next phase of growth.
– Founded in 2011, Mubadala Capital manages over $60 billion across five investment strategies.
– Apollo and additional strategic investors are expected to commit an aggregate of $5 billion to
Mubadala Capital’s investment strategies at initial close.
– The investment aims to broaden Mubadala Capital’s investor base, expand its strategies and support its global growth.
– Hani Barhoush, CEO of Mubadala Capital, said the partnership “accelerates that ambition” to connect global capital with differentiated private market opportunities, adding that Apollo’s confidence reflects the strength and trajectory of the platform.
– John Zito, Co-President of Apollo Asset Management, said the investment reflects Apollo’s “conviction in their business” and will deepen alignment between the two firms while expanding access to global investors.
– Apollo will join the founders of SILVER ROCK FINANCIAL INC as an equity holder in Mubadala Capital, while Mubadala Investment Company will retain majority ownership.
– Despite the new shareholders, Mubadala Capital will continue operating independently under its existing governance structure, with management retaining full authority over investment decisions and operations.
– The transaction builds on the longstanding relationship between Apollo, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi, including previous collaboration in seeding and scaling investment strategies.
– The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory and legal approvals.
