Apollo Global Management, Inc. Launches Apollo Sports Capital to Drive Global Sports and Live Events Investments

– Apollo announced the launch of Apollo Sports Capital (ASC), a new investment business focused on providing capital solutions across the global sports and live events ecosystem.

Al Tylis appointed Chief Executive Officer of ASC.

– Apollo Partners Rob Givone and Lee Solomon named co-portfolio managers.

Samuel Porter appointed Chief Strategy Officer.

– ASC will invest primarily in credit and hybrid opportunities within the sports industry, including franchises, leagues, venues, media, and events.

– The firm is structured as a permanent capital holding company, designed to be a stable, long-term partner offering patient capital and strategic value.

John Zito, Co-President of Apollo Asset Management, stated that Apollo Sports Capital aims to become the leading investment company in the growing world of sports, creating long-term value for investors, fans, teams, and communities. Zito emphasized Al Tylis’s strong track record in both sports and real estate and highlighted the strength of the ASC leadership team.

– CEO Al Tylis noted ASC’s goal of offering “patient capital” and diverse investment solutions beyond traditional equity strategies.

– Tylis’s experience includes ownership and investments in Club de Futbol Rayos del Necaxa, La Equidad, and the Brooklyn Pickleball Team.

– He serves on the boards of G2 Esports, United Pickleball Association, and Canvas Property Group, and co-founded the Tylis Family Foundation.

– Previously, Tylis was President and CEO of NorthStar Asset Management.

– Apollo’s managed funds have already deployed approximately $17 billion in the broader sports and entertainment sector, including investments in media rights, stadiums, leagues, and sports-related companies.
